About Bamboo Blade
Bamboo Blade follows coach Toraji Ishida, called Kojirou, as he rebuilds Muroe High kendo with Kirino Chiba, Sayako Kuwahara, Satori Azuma and prodigy first year Tamaki Kawazoe, called Tama. Early episodes cover Tama's reluctant join, footwork drills, bogu shopping, practice matches, tokusatsu jokes and Miyako Miyazaki's dark cheer. AIC ASTA adapts Masahiro Totsuka and Agawa's manga from October 2007.
Later episodes work through prefectural qualifiers, Miyako's past, training camps, senpo and taisho tactics and the push toward nationals. Matches explain scoring without slowing comedy about curry bread and Kojirou's poverty. Watch episodes 1 through 26 in order, since rival meetings and Tama's confidence build step by step to the final bouts.
Good to know
Watch episodes 1 through 26 in broadcast order. Practice results and rival scouting carry forward, so skipping breaks who fences whom in later rounds. The manga continues past the anime with extra bouts and the same steady tone. No second season has aired, so the 26 episodes stand as the full animated run. The series works as a closed sports arc with a clear nationals close.
