About Blue Box
Blue Box follows Taiki Inomata, an average badminton player at an athletics-oriented school, and Chinatsu Kano, the star of the girls' basketball team, whose early morning training sessions put them together every day. Chinatsu then moves in with his family while her parents work abroad, and the two chase the national championship in their separate sports alongside a slow romance.
The manga by Kouji Miura ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from April 2021 to July 2026, collected in 27 volumes by October 2026, and passed 10 million copies in circulation by May 2026. That is the end of the source material the anime was drawing on.
The first anime season was animated by Telecom Animation Film with TMS Entertainment producing, and ran twenty-five episodes from October 3, 2024 to March 27, 2025. The second season premiered on October 4, 2026 with a new studio, Electric Circus, and a new director in Daisuke SakÅ.
Good to know
Release order is story order across the school year, so there is no chronological alternative. Season 1 runs twenty-five episodes with no recap to skip, and the two halves of the season each cover one term of the school year, so watch them in order before the return.
Season 2 premiered on October 4, 2026, with the first episodes landing weekly. It moves to a different animation studio and director, but the story picks up where season 1 left off rather than restarting, so treat it as a continuation.
The manga finished in July 2026, which means the anime now has a defined end point. No film is announced.
