About Casshern

Neo-Human Casshern ran 35 episodes from October 1973 on Fuji TV with Tetsuya turned android hunting Braiking Boss robots. Casshan: Robot Hunter arrived as a 4-episode OVA in 1993 updating the hunt. Casshern the live film arrived in 2004 with Yusuke Iseya in stylized digital backlots.

Casshern Sins ran 24 episodes in 2008 as a reboot where the world rusts after Luna's death. Madhouse animated Sins. No new series has aired since. The four versions share the Friender dog and Andoroid war but reset continuity each time.

Good to know

Original first gives the Braiking war shape that later versions quote. The 1993 OVA works as a short brutal alternate after. The 2004 film is visual first and story thin, so treat it as a side take. Sins stands alone as the philosophical reboot and can follow or precede the others once the setup is known. With 2008 closing the line, this is a four-version set.
