About Daimos
Daimos follows Kazuya Ryuzaki, who pilots the robot Daimos against the Balbas invaders led by Olban. He falls for Erika, Olban's sister, while General Balbas seeks peace. Sunrise aired forty-four episodes from 1978 to 1979.
Early episodes establish the Daimovic base and the Balbas officers Geroiza and Barandouk. Middle chapters reveal Erika's defection and the underground shelters. Later episodes stage the Olban death and the final Balbas assault that ends the Nagahama romantic trilogy after Combattler V and Voltes V. The officers fall in fixed order, so sequence preserves tragedy reveals.
Good to know
Watch in broadcast order. The series is serial, with Balbas politics building across the run. There is no film sequel in continuity, since later Super Robot Wars games retell the story separately. New viewers can sample early launches, yet the finale wedding lands better after seeing Erika's full defection arc.
