About Darker than Black
In a Tokyo reshaped by the appearance of Hell's Gate, emotionless Contractors with priced powers work the city's underworld, and the masked BK-201, Hei, hunts its secrets for the Syndicate. Studio Bones produced the series under Tensai Okamura with music by Yoko Kanno: 25 broadcast episodes aired from April to September 2007, plus a DVD-only 26th episode in March 2008.
The 12-episode second season, Ryuusei no Gemini, aired October to December 2009. Its four Gaiden OVA episodes came out on disc across January to July 2010 but take place between the two seasons, so watch them in the middle: season 1, Gaiden, then Gemini.
Good to know
This list uses chronological order, which differs from release order (the Gaiden discs shipped alongside Gemini home-video volumes). No sequel or remake has been announced, and the story stands complete. Some listings fold the DVD-only episode 26 into season 1's count, giving 26 instead of 25.
