About Dokaben
Dokaben follows Taro Yamada, a bulky powerhouse hitter, through junior high tournaments into Takaoka High with catcher Satozaki, pitcher Tonoma and fiery Iwaki. Built from Shinji Mizushima baseball manga, the run plays full nine inning games where bunts and pitching changes decide long arcs. The early run covers the junior high days and the Takaoka trials.
The middle stretch follows the Takaoka golden age and classic finals against powerhouse schools. The closing run ends the high school era with the last Koshien bids before graduation.
