About Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball follows Goku from a strange kid with a tail to Earth's strongest defender, across the original series, Z, Super and the recent Daima. Z's long filler problem has an official fix: Kai, a recut that keeps the same story in about half the episodes.
GT is an anime-original detour that no longer fits continuity, and almost all of the old Z films are non-canon. The canon films are Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, Broly and Super Hero.
Good to know
Pick Z or Kai, not both. Kai is the faster first watch and what most guides recommend now. GT is optional: it tells an alternate story set after Z and contradicts Super and Daima, so treat it as a side timeline.
Daima, the 20-episode series from 2024 to 2025, was Akira Toriyama's final original story. A Moro-arc adaptation and a remade Beerus arc have both been announced with no firm dates.
