About Dream Fes
Dream Festival follows Kanade and Dear Dream units through idol cards. Season 1 from 2016 runs 12 episodes with debut auditions. Dream Festival R from 2017 runs 12 more with rival units and card growth.
Watch season 1 first, then R, since the second run assumes card bonds. The game came first with full live cards. No third TV season breaks this chain as of this check, so two seasons in order cover the anime story. New viewers can start with the first entry for the cleanest introduction. New viewers can start with the first entry for the cleanest introduction to the cast and rules.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing because both seasons follow one card year in broadcast order. Season 1 sets Dear Dream debuts. R deepens rival lives across 12 more. Both total 24 episodes. The game adds side cards but the anime stands alone. Start with season 1 to learn Kanade voice before rival twists.
