About Ensemble Stars
Ensemble Stars follows Yumenosaki academy idols through training and stage units. The 2019 TV run covers 24 episodes with Trickstar, Knights, Fine and others learning the unit system. Road to Show from December 2022 is a theatrical film that brings units together for a New York concert arc.
Watch the TV series first, then the film, since the movie assumes unit bonds from the show. The game events came first in Japan and hold extra stories, but they are not needed to follow the anime. No second TV season breaks this chain as of this check.
Good to know
Release order matches story order with no flashback seasons to reorder. The TV run sets every unit leader and song style. Road to Show pays off those bonds in one concert story and runs about 72 minutes. Game stories add side routes but the anime stands alone. The franchise stays active through games and stage shows, with no new TV date announced.
