About Kochikame
Kochikame follows Kankichi Ryotsu, a lazy middle aged officer at Kameari park station who chases money schemes and gets reined in by Chief Ohara. The TV series ran from June 1996 to December 2004 with 367 episodes, plus later specials.
The films are Kochikame The Movie in 1999 and Kochikame The Movie 2 in 2003. Specials include the 2016 finale The Final, which adapts late manga chapters. The manga ran from 1976 to 2016 with 201 volumes. Watch TV then films, since the films assume the station cast.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The station resets each week, so episode order only matters for running jokes like Reiko and Nakagawa. The two films sit anywhere after the early TV stretch. The 2016 finale closes the anime run, and no new series has aired since, so treat the TV plus films as complete.
