About Aggretsuko
Aggretsuko (2018 to 2023) is Sanrio's office-life pressure valve: Retsuko the red panda endures sexist bosses and dead-end accounting by day and screams death metal at karaoke by night. Five seasons track her through romance, a pop-idol detour, political campaigning and a final reckoning.
Broadcast order is the guide; the show serializes relationships and career moves while keeping episodes short. Season 1 is the essential workplace satire, later seasons go weirder with mixed results. The 2018 Christmas special slots after season 1 as a bonus. Season 5 was announced as the final run and ends Retsuko's story.
Good to know
Each season runs only ten 15-minute episodes, so the whole series is a weekend watch: do not let the five-season count intimidate. The idol-arc season 2 and the political season 4 divide fans, but all feed the finale. The Christmas special is standalone comfort viewing. Sanrio's involvement explains the cute-brutal contrast that defines the show. No continuation past season 5 has been announced.
