About Maya the Bee
Maya the Bee began as the 1975 Nippon Animation series with 52 episodes on TV Asahi, based on Waldemar Bonsels, then returned in 1982 as The New Adventures with 52 more introducing Alexander the mouse. Studio 100 rebooted it in 2012 as a 78 episode 3D run plus a second run, then released Maya the Bee Movie in 2014, The Honey Games in 2018, and The Golden Orb in 2021.
The 1975 and 1982 runs form one hive exile arc, while the 2012 series and films retell the premise for a new audience. Watch the 1975 original first, then the 1982 second series, then the 2012 version and films.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The shows aired 1975 to 2021 and each run follows Maya forward from leaving the hive, so release order and story order are the same list. The 1977 compilation film edits early 1975 episodes and can be skipped if you watch the full original run.
