About Vicky the Viking
Vicky the Viking adapts Runer Jonsson 1963 novel about Vicky, son of Halvar, who joins raids and solves with ideas what force cannot. Zuiyo Enterprise animated 78 episodes from January 1974 to September 1975 for ZDF and Fuji TV, later cut into a 1978 West German compilation. Michael Herbig shot live action in 2009 and Studio 100 remade it in 2013 with 78 eleven minute episodes.
Each version retells the Flake village premise rather than continuing it. Watch the 1974 original first for the Takahata era craft, then the 2013 remake or the 2009 film as alternate takes on the same crew.

There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The 1974 series, the 1978 cutdown, the 2009 film, and the 2013 remake each start with Vicky proving himself to Halvar, so release order and story order are the same list.
