About Negima
Negima tracks child teacher Negi with class 3-A across two TV tellings. The 2005 series runs 26 episodes with anime original close. Negima from 2006 retells with a new studio across 26 more to a different end. Ala Alba OVAs from 2008 to 2009 adapt manga arcs closely.
Anime Final from 2011 closes the manga path in film length. Watch in release order because each retelling assumes school bonds. The Akamatsu manga came first with the true end. No new TV season breaks this chain as of this check. New viewers can start with the first entry for the cleanest introduction.
Good to know
Release order keeps school growth clear across retellings. The 2005 run sets Mahora rules. The 2006 run resets with new magic pace. Ala Alba OVAs run about 90 minutes total into manga arcs. Anime Final runs about 80 minutes to the manga close and should be saved for last. Start with 2005 to learn Negi class before the retellings.
