About Obake no Q-taro
Obake no Q-taro is Fujiko Fujio ghost comedy about Q-taro living with Sho-chan family and scaring with tricks in the house. The 1965 TBS run aired 96 black white episodes, the 1976 NTV run aired 70 color episodes, the 1986 TV Asahi run aired 510 episodes to 1987 as the long version with Dotaro.
Each run restarts the haunt rather than continuing prior endings with new designs. Watch the 1965 original for the origin gags, then the 1976 and 1986 runs as separate takes on the same ghost house for completion and contrast.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The 1965, 1976, and 1986 runs each start with Q-taro meeting Sho-chan anew in the same house always for comedy, so release order and story order are the same list. Films and specials edit TV beats and can be sampled after the three runs for extras.
