About Hamtaro
Hamtaro follows a hamster and his Ham-Ham friends, who sneak out to help Laura and solve small problems around the clubhouse. The run spans the 2000 series with 296 episodes, a 2006 sequel with 77 episodes, a 2011 series with 103 episodes, plus four films and four OVAs in between.
Watch in release order: the 2000 series first, then the four films as they landed, then Hai, then Dechu. The films slot between TV runs and reuse the same cast, so they play as longer episodes rather than separate arcs. English dubs only cover the early run, so subbed viewing fills the later gaps.
Good to know
Release order is the only sane path, because the TV runs overlap in cast and assume you know the Ham-Hams. The four films premiered yearly from 2001 to 2004 inside the first series run. Later series shorten episode lengths and shift tone younger, which is worth knowing before continuing. No new Hamtaro TV run has aired since Dechu closed in 2013.
