About Chibi Maruko
Chibi Maruko is Momoko Sakura autobiographical comedy about Maruko in Shimizu with family and classmates in third grade. The first series ran 142 episodes in 1990 to 1992, then the second started January 1995 and continues past 1300 with the same Sunday slot and tone. Films followed in December 1990 and December 2015 as bonus outings.
Stories reset each week with no arc to track across years. Watch the 1990 run first for the origin tone, then the long 1995 run and the two films in release order as extra visits rather than required chapters.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The runs from 1990 onward show Maruko in third grade without aging across Shimizu years, so release order and story order are the same list. The second series is ongoing past 1300 episodes and can be sampled after the first without missing plot.
