About Princess Sarah
Princess Sarah follows Sara Crewe, a kind rich girl placed in Miss Minchin's London boarding school who loses her father and fortune. Early episodes show her popularity, French skill, stories for friends and bond with Becky. The middle run turns harsh as she is sent to the attic, works as a servant, faces hunger and keeps dignity through Lavinia's taunts.
The final stretch follows secret help from the next door neighbor, the search for the lost diamond mine heir and Sara's true standing. Nippon Animation aired 46 episodes in 1985 as part of World Masterpiece Theater with detailed Victorian design. Watch episodes 1 through 46 in order since each fall and kindness builds toward the reveal.
Good to know
Watch all 46 episodes in broadcast order because Sara's fall from pupil to servant only lands when seen step by step. The TV serial adapts the novel fully with no sequel needed, though film versions retell the same plot. Miss Minchin's cruelty and Becky's loyalty anchor the middle run. Expect gentle pacing, strong emotion and a hopeful close after long hardship.
