About Rave Master
Rave Master is Hiro Mashima's series before Fairy Tail: Haru Glory pulls the sword Ten Commandments from the sea, teams up with the amnesiac Elie, and hunts the Dark Bring stones to stop Demon Card. Studio Deen's 51-episode anime from 2001 covers roughly the first third of the manga.
There is exactly one anime to watch, which makes the guide short: the 51 episodes in broadcast order, ideally subtitled, since the English broadcast version was famously re-edited. The important caveat is that the anime ends mid-story with an anime-original close, while the manga runs 35 volumes to a real conclusion. Treat the show as a long introduction and continue in the manga.
Fairy Tail fans will spot the prototypes everywhere, from Plue to the guild-shaped found family, which is half the fun.
Good to know
The English dub aired heavily edited with episodes merged and reordered in places, so the subtitled broadcast order is the one to trust. No sequel anime exists and none has ever been announced, despite the manga finishing in 2005. The crossover one-shot with Fairy Tail and the later sequel hints in other Mashima works are easter eggs, not continuations. If you want the full story, the manga is the only way.
