About School Rumble

School Rumble follows Tenma Tsukamoto pining for Karasuma while delinquent Harima pines for her, a love triangle that never resolves across escalating farce. From Jin Kobayashi's manga, the first season ran 26 episodes from October 2004.

The Extra Class OVA added two episodes in 2005, the 26-episode second semester ran in 2006, and the four-episode Third Semester OVA closed the anime in 2008. Watch in release order: season one, Extra Class, season two, Third Semester. The OVAs slot between and after the TV runs by design.

Good to know

Release order is the intended order. Extra Class bridges the two TV seasons and Third Semester adapts the manga's closing chapters, so watching the TV runs back to back then the OVAs scrambles the placements. The anime still ends before the manga's true finale, which lives only on the page. Comedy episodes stand alone, but the romance beats need the sequence.
