About Tokyo Revengers

Tokyo Revengers follows Takemichi Hanagaki as he leaps back twelve years to save Hinata Tachibana by changing the Tokyo Manji Gang from inside. The manga by Ken Wakui ran in Weekly Shonen Magazine from March 2017 to November 2022 in 31 collected volumes and has sold more than 80 million copies, making it one of the best selling manga series of all time. It won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award for the shonen category in 2020.

The anime adaptation by Liden Films aired its first season from April to September 2021 across 24 episodes covering the Moebius and Bloody Halloween arcs. Season two, the Christmas Showdown, ran January to April 2023, and season three, the Tenjiku Arc, ran October to December 2023. The fourth season, subtitled the War of the Three Titans Arc, premiered on October 3, 2026 with Maki Kodaira directing in place of Hatsumi, who moved to series composition with Muto. It adapts the manga's penultimate arc and opens the final saga.

There is also a Dowa Revengers mini series of fairy tale adaptations and a live action film with a two part sequel, which are covered in the notes rather than the list.

Good to know

Watch the TV seasons in broadcast order and skip nothing, since each arc builds directly on who lived and who died last time. The War of the Three Titans Arc is the start of the final saga, so treat it as the beginning of the ending rather than a side story.

The two live action films from 2021 and 2023 retell early arcs with a condensed cast and changed endings, so treat them as an alternate version to watch after the anime, not part of it. The Chibi Revengers shorts are comedy extras with no story weight, and the Dowa Revengers fairy tale mini series is a parody spin off.

The manga itself is the only complete version of the story, and it is still worth checking against the anime for the panels the adaptation compresses.
