About Between the Lions
Seasons 1 to 3 from 2000 to 2002 open the library with Theo, Cleo, Lionel and Leona, mixing puppetry with Cliff Hanger and phonics sketches. Early runs carry Sesame style energy with guest readers. Seasons 4 to 6 from 2003 to 2006 settle the format with two story halves per show.
Seasons 7 to 10 from 2007 to 2010 close the run with repeats folded in, ending November 2010 after 130 episodes. The show won Daytime Emmys across its life. Watch in broadcast order, since running gags and reader ages build gently.
Good to know
Any episode works alone, but broadcast order shows the readers growing best. Start with season 1 for the Pecos Bill opener. Later seasons reuse some segments, so expect repeats. The 2010 finale ends the run shut, with reruns only after. Pair with reading sessions for young viewers. The theme song sticks fast.
