About Daria
Daria spun out of Beavis and Butt-Head in March 1997 and ran five 13-episode seasons on MTV. Glenn Eichler and Susie Lewis Lynn built it around Daria Morgendorffer and Jane Lane at Lawndale High, with almost no input from Mike Judge beyond permission to use the character. The run closed with the TV film Is It College Yet? in January 2002.
Watch in air order with the films where they premiered. Is It Fall Yet? (August 2000) sits between seasons 4 and 5 and sets up the Tom, Daria, and Jane triangle that drives season 5. Is It College Yet? is the finale.
Good to know
MTV once planned a short season 6, but Eichler asked to end the story with a film instead. The Jodie spinoff film was completed, then dropped by MTV Entertainment Studios in March 2024; its producers said they may shop it elsewhere. With no buyer announced, treat Jodie as shelved.
