About Day 5
Day 5 follows addict Jake, teen Sam, doctor Ally and pilot Ellis after a mysterious event makes sleep lethal for most of humanity. Season 1 ran for 6 episodes from June 19 to July 31, 2016, tracking the group's search for answers around Austin and Dallas while a new predator called the Incubus stalks survivors.
Season 2 ran for 8 episodes from August 6 to September 24, 2017, expanding toward the Sandman's Oasis, a place where sleep seems possible again. Showrunner Josh Flanagan later said no further season was in development, so the two seasons form the complete story.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing, since the story runs in a straight line and release order is story order. Watch season 1 first, then season 2, without skipping the shorts like Number 27 if you find them, since they fill small gaps. A planned third season never entered production, so the season 2 finale Dawn is the current endpoint.
