About Dug Days
Dug Days follows Dug the talking dog settling into suburbia with Carl Fredricksen, opening September 2021 with five shorts. Squirrels, fireworks, flowers and puppy dreams test his new home lessons in eight minute tales with Russell cameos.
The short Carls Date premiered June 2023 with Elemental in theaters, sending Dug to help Carl face dating again after Ellie. Watch the five 2021 shorts first, then Carls Date last. Release order matches story order, with the 2023 short assuming Dug home life and Carl grief are settled and known. The pacing stays steady, with each part adding faces while keeping the core tone clear.
Good to know
Watch the five 2021 shorts in listed order, since Squirrels and Flowers build Dug speech habits and house rules. Each short runs under 10 minutes, so the series finishes in one sitting with kids. Save Carls Date from 2023 for last, as its dating plot needs Carl grief context from Up and Dug Days. No second season was ordered beyond the short and series.
