About Fraggle Rock
Fraggle Rock (1983) is Jim Henson's co-production about the Fraggles, the Doozers and the Gorgs, built to air worldwide with different human segments per country. The original 96 episodes ran to 1987, followed by a single animated season that retells the same world for younger viewers.
Decades later, Apple TV+ revived the puppets with Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock from 2022, carrying the same characters forward with new songs. Watch the original series first, treat the animated season as an optional retelling, then the revival. The holiday special Night of the Lights (2024) caps the revival's second season and works as the current endpoint.
Good to know
International versions of the original swapped the human wraparounds: the UK used a lighthouse, France a bakery, Germany a workshop. The stories with the Fraggles are identical either way, so any version counts. The animated series adapts original plots loosely rather than continuing them. Back to the Rock recasts the puppeteers but keeps the characters continuous, so it plays as a revival, not a reboot.
