About High School Musical
High School Musical premiered January 2006 on Disney Channel and became a hit about Troy, Gabriella and the East High Wildcats. Part 2 followed in August 2007 and Senior Year went theatrical in October 2008. Sharpay Fabulous Adventure in 2011 follows Sharpay in New York a year later.
The Musical The Series ran four seasons and 38 episodes on Disney Plus from 2019 to 2023, set at the school where the films were shot with a new drama club cast. Disney confirmed season 4 as the last in 2023. The announced High School Musical 4 from 2016 was never produced and only appears as a movie within the series.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order. The trilogy runs 2006 to 2008 in story and real time, Sharpay picks up a year later, and the series sits years after as a meta sequel about kids staging the musical. Watch films 1 through 3, then Sharpay, then the series. The international remakes are optional and outside this list.
