About Happy Tree Friends
Happy Tree Friends is a Mondo Media Flash series from Aubrey Ankrum, Rhode Montijo and Kenn Navarro where cute animals like Cuddles, Giggles, Lumpy and Flippy die in slapstick accidents. Internet seasons 1 and 2 ran December 1999 to December 2005 and made it an early viral hit with millions of views per short.
The G4 TV series aired October 3 to December 25 2006 with 13 episodes or 39 segments animated by FatKat. Web season 3 followed 2007 to 2013, the Ka-Pow action spinoff brought 6 episodes in 2008, and the Still Alive bundle added 5 new shorts on December 22 2016.
Good to know
The show has no plot continuity, watch for character introductions rather than story. Start with the early web shorts, then the TV series, since TV reuses the same cast with longer setups. Ka-Pow focuses on Flippy, Splendid and Buddhist Monkey, and Still Alive plays as a coda after the 2010 to 2013 slowdown.
