John R. Dilworth's horror comedy follows a timid pink dog guarding Muriel and Eustace Bagge on a farm in Nowhere, Kansas. It ran 52 episodes over four seasons on Cartoon Network from 1999 to 2002, growing from the 1996 What a Cartoon! pilot.
Release order suits the show since most episodes stand alone. The 2014 CGI special and the 2021 Scooby-Doo crossover film follow the finale as optional extras.

A viral 2025 rumor of a Courage movie was debunked in August 2025; the poster and trailer were AI-generated fakes with no studio behind them. Dilworth's proposed prequel Before Courage did not move forward. No new Courage projects have been announced.
