About Hey Arnold
Hey Arnold ran five seasons on Nickelodeon from 1996 to 2004, following Arnold Shortman and Helga Pataki across the boarding house neighborhood. The Journal two-parter in season 5 sets up the search for Arnold's parents in San Lorenzo. Hey Arnold!: The Movie from 2002 slots mid-series as a neighborhood fight against gentrification and can be watched any time after season 3.
Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie from November 2017 is the definitive finale, picking up The Journal's cliffhanger fifteen years later with the original creator back. It answers the parents question and closes Helga's arc, so it must come last. The series is complete and the film is the intended ending.
Good to know
Release order is story order here, since the show was written with the Journal arc as its endgame. Watch The Movie before the Journal episodes if you want strict placement, but it was made as a standalone and spoils nothing. The Jungle Movie assumes you know the full cast, including Olga, Rhonda and the boarding house crew. It runs 81 minutes and works as the series finale rather than a separate reboot.
