About Off the Air
Off the Air premiered unannounced at 4 a.m. on January 1, 2011, when Adult Swim editor Dave Hughes cut a mixtape of odd animation, music videos and internet clips into one continuous flow. Each episode takes a single theme word like Animals, Food or Dreams and blends commissioned shorts with found footage, scored end to end. Williams Street and Hughes's Million Monkeys Inc. produce the run, which airs in the network's graveyard slot.
Through October 2026 the show spans 15 seasons and 54 episodes plus three specials, with Season 15 arriving December 30, 2025. Episodes are standalone by design, so season order is about watching the curation evolve rather than following a plot. Go season by season from 2011 forward.
Good to know
There is no chronological reorder for an anthology with no shared plot: release order is the only order, and episodes play in any sequence without confusion. The three specials, including the Dan Deacon pieces, slot beside their seasons and need no fixed position. New batches have landed every year or two, so expect Season 16 to extend this list. Start anywhere, but the early Animals and Food episodes show the format at its purest.
