About Oggy and the Cockroaches
Oggy and the Cockroaches premiered in September 1998 and ran seven seasons to January 2019, with 169 episodes cut into 501 seven minute segments. Season 4 adds Olivia, seasons 5 through 7 move to HD with a redesign, and the 80 minute film from August 2013 plays four eras as an anthology. The show has almost no dialogue, so any segment plays standalone.
Oggy Oggy launched in 2021 as a CGI preschool spinoff with 52 episodes and no roaches, while Next Generation arrived in late 2021 with 13 episodes and adds Piya the elephant. Season 9 was greenlit in March 2026 for late 2027 to early 2028. Release order matches story order, since there is no serial plot to reorder.
Good to know
Watch seasons 1 through 7 in order if you want the design changes to make sense, but feel free to sample since every segment resets. Treat the film as standalone and Oggy Oggy as a separate preschool canon for younger viewers. Next Generation is the only sequel that needs the original first, because Piya arrival assumes you know Oggy, Jack and the roaches. Check whether listings count 22 minute episodes or 7 minute segments before you track progress.
