About Primal
Primal pairs caveman Spear and dinosaur Fang surviving a brutal land across ten episodes in season 1 from 2019, mostly without dialogue. Season 2 from 2022 adds Mira and language as the trio crosses seas toward civilization.
Season 3 from January to March 2026 turns undead with Spear while sitting before the season 2 epilogue in story time. The show earned juried Emmys for its 2026 run. Release order works throughout since season 3 plays as a pre-epilogue interquel. No fourth season is ordered yet.
Good to know
Release order is recommended even though season 3 sits before the season 2 epilogue chronologically, since the interquel assumes the full journey. Each season runs ten episodes on Adult Swim and Max. Tartakovsky has floated an anthology fourth season if greenlit, but nothing is ordered. Start with season 1 for the wordless bond that powers everything.
