About Sofia the First
Sofia the First starts with the Once Upon a Princess film in 2012 as Sofia joins the Enchancia royal family. Season 1 from 2013 sets the amulet rules and the Cedric schemes across 25 episodes.
Season 2 from 2014 and season 3 from 2015 widen the princess lessons into the Secret Library turn. Season 4 from 2017 closes the run into 2018 with the Avalor crossover. Watch the film first, then seasons 1 through 4. The amulet lessons stack year to year. Hugo, James and Amber grow across the seasons. The flying horse and animal friends return throughout.
Good to know
Watch the 2012 film before the series. The amulet premise and stepsibling setup come from the pilot, so the seasons assume them. The run closed in 2018 after 109 episodes with Elena and the Ever Realm specials capping it. The amulet lessons close fully. Start with the film. No revival had been announced as of October 2026.
