About South Park

Trey Parker and Matt Stone's show premiered on Comedy Central on August 13, 1997, and it has never needed a timeline. Episodes are built to stand alone, so the list below is simply the order things were released. The one wrinkle is the theatrical film, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, which opened June 30, 1999 in the middle of season 3's run and is standalone.

Since 2020 the show has mixed short seasons with event specials. Season 24 was two episodes, seasons 25 and 26 were six each, and the seven Paramount+ specials sit in the gaps between them. Season 29 started September 16, 2026 and is scheduled to run to November 25.

Good to know

Season numbering follows the broadcast seasons: 1 through 23 are full runs of 10 to 18 episodes, and 24 onward are short. Parker and Stone signed a deal in July 2025 for 50 more episodes through 2030, with season 30 expected in 2027 but no date announced. The Kendrick Lamar live-action musical, working title Whitney Springs, left Paramount's schedule in November 2025; the pair apologized for the delay on September 9, 2026 and said they still believe in the project.
