About Strawberry Shortcake
Strawberry Shortcake began as greeting-card specials in the 1980s with six TV specials from Kenner. The 2003 revival ran four seasons with new designs for a new generation. Berry Bitty Adventures aired 65 episodes from 2010 to 2015 in CGI around Berry Bitty City. Berry in the Big City launched in 2021 on YouTube with Strawberry competing in a baking world.
Each incarnation retells the berry-girl premise from scratch with new voices and no shared timeline. The 1980s specials, the 2003 run and the CGI eras all stand alone for their own audiences with the same character names.
Good to know
Start with whichever era matches the viewer: the 1980s specials for classic history, the 2003 run for millennial nostalgia, or Berry in the Big City as the current version. The 2003 films like Sky's the Limit fit inside that run only. Later series reuse names like Orange Blossom and Lemon Meringue with new designs, so treat each as its own Strawberryland.
