About Amnesia
Amnesia began with Frictional's The Dark Descent (2010) about Daniel erasing his memory through Brennenburg. A Machine for Pigs (2013) from The Chinese Room moves to Mandus and the industrial underworks. Rebirth (2020) follows Tasi through the Algerian caves around the Empress, and The Bunker (2023) traps Henri in World War I tunnels with the Beast.
Frictional keeps the series active with the Bunker receiving post-launch support and no next game dated as of 2026. Each entry resets the cast and century around the same sanity-and-darkness systems, so no plot gates another.
Good to know
Play in release order for the cleanest scare curve, since the hiding systems grow friendlier across the run. The Dark Descent stays the purest start with its oil and tinderbox limits. A Machine for Pigs divides fans with its lighter survival, safe to treat as its own story after the original rather than a direct step.
