About Bust-A-Move

Bust-A-Move starts with Puzzle Bobble in 1994 matching bubbles with Bubblun and Bobblun. Bust-A-Move 2 followed in 1995 and 3 in 1996 with wider rosters.

Bust-A-Move 4 arrived in 1998, Millennium in 2000, Universe in 2011 and Journey in 2012. Play in release order. The aim and drop core stays constant, so each entry adds characters and modes onto known systems. Bub and Bob cameo from Bubble Bobble throughout. The versus ladders climb fast. Rainbow shots clear whole screens. The dragon pair anchors every roster.

Good to know

Play in release order. Taito built the line from the Bubble Bobble characters outward. Puzzle Bobble is the Japanese series title for the same games. No new entry had been announced as of October 2026, with Journey from 2012 the latest. The Taito lineage shows. Start with the 1994 arcade original. The Puzzle Bobble name covers Japan.
