About Dave Mirra
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX from September 2000 opens with 10 pros and 12 parks across vert, dirt and street, built by Z-Axis for Acclaim. Trick modifiers and pro quests set the template. Ports reached Dreamcast and PC.
Maximum Remix from May 2001 expands the same game on PlayStation with more levels and riders. Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 from 2001 follows on new hardware with the full sequel treatment. BMX XXX from 2002 closes the line, retooled from BMX 3 with crude humor after Mirra parted ways. Play in release order throughout.
Good to know
Release order tracks the trick system growing. Start with the 2000 original for the pro quest template. Maximum Remix reuses much of it, so veterans can skim. BMX 2 needs newer hardware. BMX XXX leans crude, so expect a tone shift at the end. Later Mirra titles never came. Soundtracks carry Sublime and Rancid cuts.
