About Death Stranding
Death Stranding from 2019 follows Sam Porter reconnecting a fractured America while carrying BB Lou through BT territory. The Director Cut from 2021 adds cargo tools, firing range and story tweaks without changing the plot. Death Stranding 2 On the Beach from June 2025 moves the crew to Mexico and Australia with new strand threats.
Play the first game or its Cut, then part 2. The Cut is the version to buy now, including the PC port from 2022. A live action film and animated projects are in development, but no third game has been announced.
Good to know
Do not buy both the base 2019 release and the Cut separately unless you want two trophy lists, since the Cut holds the full story in one place. Part 2 assumes you finished part 1, including the BB arc. The PC port of part 2 from March 2026 matches the PS5 cut, so platform is taste rather than content.
