About Demon's Souls
Demon Souls sends the Slayer through Boletaria Nexus archstones to free King Allant from the colorless fog with bosses and tendency shifts. The 2009 PS3 original sets the stamina, souls and world tendency rules that shaped the whole genre after.
The 2020 Bluepoint remake rebuilds the same five archstones with new visuals, faster loads and photo mode on PS5. It keeps enemy layout and tendency logic intact shot for shot, so it replaces the original for new players while veterans keep the PS3 disc for history.
Good to know
Play the 2020 remake as the single version if you are new, since it includes the full archstone run with modern controls and online. The 2009 original matters for collectors and tendency researchers only these days. No sequel exists with the series folded into Dark Souls after, so treat the remake as complete as of this check.
