About Eternal Champions

Eternal Champions from 1993 pulls nine era fighters with Jonathan Blade, Xavier Pendragon and Larcen Tyler into a time tournament on Genesis under Sega. Fights use heavy combos, stage kills, force fields and inner-strength meters with dark endings.

Challenge from the Dark Side from 1995 adds new killers, Sega CD cinemas and refined finishers with the same Eternal Champion prize plot. Play in release order because the sequel assumes first roster knowledge. Sega closed the run in 1995 after a Saturn entry was cancelled. Overkills end bouts with stage flair.

Good to know

Release order is the only path for Eternal Champions because tournaments carry no story order and the prize plot resets each time. Start with the 1993 Genesis original for roster basics and stage-kill timing, then take the Sega CD sequel any time. Later finishers build directly on first-game reads. Dark endings reward full roster runs.
