About Excite

Excite follows Nintendo's arcade racing line from dirt bikes to trucks and bots, built on jumps, boosts and overheating engines. The run starts with Excitebike in 1984, continues with Excitebike 64, then Excite Truck, Excitebots and the World Rally remake.

Play in release order. Bike leaning and landing habits from the original carry into 64, while Truck adds terrain morphing that assumes jump timing. Bots swaps wheels for legs with the same heat rules, so it plays last among the main three. World Rally is a remake style coda that can follow any time after the original.

Good to know

Tracks and vehicles reset every game, so order tracks heat and landing habits. The NES original punishes bad landings hardest, which trains the timing later games need. Truck and Bots add morphing and climbing without dropping the overheat core. No new Excite has shipped since the Wii era, leaving World Rally as the current close.
