About Factorio
Factorio (2020) builds belts from iron to rockets on one planet, opening August 14, 2020 for PC from Wube after early access February 25, 2016. Space Age DLC (2024) adds Vulcanus, Fulgora, Gleba and Aquilo planets with new sciences from October 21, 2024.
The expansion assumes you can balance green circuits and oil without guides, with space platforms adding weight limits. Wube said June 2026 that 2.1 is the last major update, with no new DLC announced. Play base to rocket first, then Space Age once you automate blue science.
Good to know
Release order matches skill order, with Space Age tuning for 100 plus hour bases. Do not start with Space Age planets, since foundries and recyclers assume belt basics. The base runs best with the demo first if you never balanced. Treat the set as complete, with 2.1 as final major patch and no expansion dated.
