About Failbetter Games
Failbetter Games writes the Neath, London stolen by bats a mile underground. Fallen London from 2009 still updates its browser stories monthly, with the Silver Tree from 2012 as a prequel. Sunless Sea from 2015 sailed the Unterzee trading terror for fuel, with the Zubmariner DLC diving deeper in 2016.
Sunless Skies from 2019 took the engine to space with the High Wilderness. Mask of the Rose from 2023 returned to 1862 as a Fallen London prequel visual novel. Mandrake is announced as a rural life sim outside the Neath with early access planned and no date. Play Fallen London first for the lore grammar.
Good to know
Release order is the play order. Fallen London sets the Masters and the Bazaar rules that every later game riffs on, though each stands alone. The Zubmariner DLC folds into the Sunless Sea entry rather than listing separately. Mandrake leaves the Neath for new countryside with early access planned and no date, so it sits last. Exceptional Stories still update Fallen London monthly.
