About Fatal Frame
Fatal Frame is Tecmo and Koei Tecmo's Japanese horror series, known as Project Zero in Europe. Each game traps a new cast in a cursed place, a mansion, a lost village, a manor of sleep, a mountain of black water, and arms them only with the Camera Obscura, which harms ghosts by photographing them.
This play order follows release order. The games are standalone stories with shared lore, except the third, which ties the first two together. New players should start with Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly or its 2026 remake.
