About Frontier

Frontier Developments started with Elite, David Braben's 1984 wireframe space trader that defined open galaxies. Elite Dangerous revived the formula online in 2014 with real-scale Milky Way flying. Planet Coaster brought coaster construction polish in 2016.

Jurassic World Evolution added dinosaur park licensing in 2018. Planet Zoo refined animal welfare sims in 2019 and continues with DLC. Playing in release order shows camera controls and economy tuning maturing from space docks to zoo habitats. Newcomers can start with Planet Zoo or Planet Coaster for friendliest tutorials.

Good to know

Play in release order. Elite and the management games do not share continuity, so no story order exists. Within Jurassic Evolution, play 1 before 2. Elite 1984 can be skipped by modern players, since Dangerous restates the trading loop. Later F1 Manager entries slot after Planet Zoo for sports-management fans.
