Godfather from EA Redwood launched March 21, 2006 on PS2 and Xbox about Aldo rising in Corleone family during film events. It sold over four million with respect systems. Godfather II arrived April 7, 2009 on PS3 and 360 about Dominic in Cuba and New York with crew strategy.
Stories follow films with new soldier view, so play 2006 then 2009 for rise to Don. Plans for Part III game were scrapped after sequel sales, so these two are complete with M ratings. Mobile Mob Wars and Five Families are side grinds and optional.

Release order matches film order from 1945 to 1960s, so there is no alternate timeline to follow. The first game runs 20 hours with extortion fronts. The sequel adds crew management and Cuba maps.
