About Grounded
Grounded (2022) shrinks four teens to ant size in a yard lab, with early access July 28, 2020 and 1.0 September 27, 2022 for Xbox and PC from Obsidian. Ports reached Switch and PlayStation on April 16, 2024. Grounded 2 (2025) moves the crew to Brookhollow Park in early access from July 29, 2025 on Xbox Series and PC, with PS5 early access August 11, 2026.
The sequel reuses burgles, milk molars and faction bugs without reteaching crafts. Obsidian keeps Grounded 2 in preview through 2026 with the Into the Abyss update. Play Grounded 1 to 1.0 first, then try Grounded 2 early access once you know base builds.
Good to know
Release order matches story order, with park events set after the yard escape. Do not start with the sequel, since armor tiers and mutations assume yard basics. Early access means saves can wipe and balance can shift patch to patch. Treat Grounded 2 full 1.0 as undated, with the roadmap still in preview.
