About Horizon
Horizon follows Aloy in order across two main games plus VR and LEGO extras. Zero Dawn from 2017 introduces the Nora and the machine plague mystery, Frozen Wilds expands it the same year, and Forbidden West from 2022 continues in the west with the Burning Shores expansion in 2023.
Call of the Mountain from 2023 is a VR side story with a new lead, and LEGO Horizon Adventures from 2024 retells Zero Dawn as comedy. A remaster of Zero Dawn arrived in 2024, and a multiplayer Hunters Gathering project plus a Horizon film remain in development with no dates.
Good to know
Play Zero Dawn with Frozen Wilds, then Forbidden West with Burning Shores, since the expansions assume endgame knowledge and spoil the base reveals. Call of the Mountain and LEGO Horizon can be played any time after Zero Dawn as non-required extras. The next main game has no date, so Forbidden West is the current story endpoint.
